A perfect day for me is one where I don’t have to put any makeup on. Or pants.
Basically, I love my house. I love bed. I love my laptop and my books and my Tivo and my XBox. I love wearing a big, soft comfy t-shirt and, on ocassion, my well worn, soft cotton yoga pants. I love gathering all of my entertainment accoutrements, a big huge glass of Diet Dr. Pepper, maybe a pint of Ben and Jerry’s Mint Chocolate Cookie ice cream and snuggling on my couch under my fuzzy blanket and spending all day vegging out and enjoying my various hobbies.
Basically, I am a homebody. If there is a weekend where I don’t leave my house, I’m ok with that. But there’s a balance I have to strike. If I spend a few weekends in, we need some time out, so we don’t go insane.
This weekend is one of those weekends. Tonight, we had dinner with some friends at O’Charley’s then went over to the mall and had dessert at Dairy Queen, where we were able to avoid the drama that usually comes with our visits there. Seriously, every time we go to get ice cream, we get shitty service or they forget our food or they give other people free ice cream before we, as paying customers, get ours. One time, they told us they ran out of ice cream! Another time, the girl called Steve an asshole. And you know, we happen to know the people who own it, and everytime we get bad service they hear it. So it’s probably a good lesson about customer service – we don’t expect the world but we don’t expect you to be shitty to us either. And you never know who you’re being shitty too! (We also make sure to tell them when we get great service too. Because there are times where the people are awesome!)
So we had Dairy Queen and just hung out, eating our ice cream and people watching.
Tomorrow, we’re going to see an afternoon showing of The Watchmen then probably go shopping for some essentials. Steve needs boots and we need the household usuals – toilet paper, etc. And Sunday, we’ll probably go to trivia.
Of course, by Sunday, I’ll probably be exhausted and ready to snuggle back into my ass groove on the couch. And my house will probably be a wreck from neglecting all of my normal house duties. But we’ll have had a great time with some awesome friends and that will have made it all worth.
I’m still not a fan of wearing pants!
Oh, and just for you – to start the weekend with a smile. This makes my ovaries dance! (If you can look at this without even cracking a smile, you are a soulless heathen! LOL)
