I’ve always loved self-expression. And attention. It’s probably the only reason I still do this after so many years. Plus, the writing process is rather cathartic for me, even if posts are sporadic.
I’ve dabbled in web design since high school, bouncing from one hosted site to another. Finally, in July of 2001, I realized I wanted my own space. I like having control, what can I say. So I bought Kallure (pronounced KUH-lure) and I’ve been here ever since. Seven years this summer. Wow, time flies when you’re having fun?
Kallure has brought me through my early college years to where I have settled today as a young professional woman with my own home and my own family. It’s been my outlet, my journal, my own personal space to work to grow as well as reflect.
Most of the entires are gone from the public eye. Over the years, I’ve taken them down to start over. There’s nothing like a fresh notebook to inspire. Sometimes, I just need that clean slate.
There’s no particular meaning to the name. I just added my initial to the word allure. I was trying to be thought-provoking and mysterious. I even had a definition for it at one time. Now, it’s just me. It’s become such a part of my web identity and online life that I truly feel like if I gave it up, I’d give up a part of myself.
